The Bloody Hell
Its been 48 hrs now since the terrifying attack on India and the rescue operations still continue!
Explosions and fire continues at Taj, though the operations at the Nariman house and the Trident have seemingly come to an end. The approximate dead body count has reached a whopping 150 and the official count could be much more. The news channels are flashing all the possible rubbish - most of it true and the rest fake and the citizens of Mumbai continue to struggle back to their normal lives amongst all this. The Mumbai man surely has a personal disaster management strategy handy though the government India hasnt been able to draft one for herself, I am sure.
There has been a hell lotta hullabaloo by the so called national leaders passing political statements and huge paparazzi by the media making a great attempt to keep the citizens of India aware of the events second by second!! Ironically our national leaders seem to have a lotta strategy for disaster control after the terror has struck. There is a lotta talk about the strict measures to be taken in future and the compensation to lost lives.
Though there has been a genuine effort to fight this at the cost of the Mumbai bravehearts like the ATS cheif, the encounter specialist and Vijay Salaskar, the NSG commandos and the local policemen who lost their lives in order to shield ours. Let us also not forget the media who is making a very brave attempt of giving us the live coverage of the terror. I salute each and every human being involved in these operations.
And wait a minute there are something amongst all this that i wish to bring to notice. Its important and its important to hear it at this time.
Where has the Marathi Manoos hid himself amongst all this??? Why the fuck is he so silent when its today that Mumbai needs the biggest help and support!! How he claimed of the Maajhi Mumbai.... is now only bothered about Maajhi(me) now. Bull shit!!! Freaking... Fucking.... Bull shit!! Today when Mumbai is in terror India has summoned the NSG commandos from Delhi. Dint he protest this time??? I seriously wish i could throw him inside the Taj where he would see what is actual terror face to face and feel his own piss passing down his own pants. He freaking deserves it!! I seriously feel that his supporters now realize that its the India that matters and not his ideology of a freaking Marathi Manoos.
Somehow it seems rather convenient to clean the floor after the milk has been spilled than actually protecting the same from happening. I do not mean to criticize the Indian defense, but I am just so surprised that are we so engrossed in the concentration of nuclear power & economic stability with international recognition that any fucking men infiltrate the borders of our motherland and and claim so many lives that puts her on frontpage of all the existing news papers in the world in 15 freaking hours?
This had led to a lotta anger amongst the common man who does not know whether he would be shaking hands with death when he gets out of the house today. I have always loved Mumbai for the city that it is and have always vouched for its spirit. Even as the south Mumbai remains seized the rest of it continues to work and regain its normal life immediately. Are we just born resilient or what?? Do our schools train us to get up after every hit to prepare ourselves for the next disaster.!! Damn... arent we scared???Seriously what are Mumbaikars made of???
As i sit back on my bed and draft this blog my mobile vibrates.I immediately grab it and pick it up and guess who is it??
'Get Reebok sports shoes worth Rs. 2690 now for Rs. 1300 using ur ICICI bank credit card. TnC apply'
Imagine if you were stuck in one of those god forsaken places and you got this message? Wouldnt you feel like sueing the bank?
Can u beat that??? That is Mumbai and Mumbaikars for you.... While i sip some coffee in my room and letting the disastorous TV sounds fall slightly on my ears as i draft this shit I give out a hearty laughter. 'Oh yes i do need good Reebok shoes to run incase i come face to face with terror'
People here make serious efforts to resume their lives. They feel bad for their fellow brothers and pray for them in their own silent ways and let the show still continue. Yes, This happens only in Mumbai.
People had resumed their early morning walks on the marine drive and were curious enough to come there and take a look as to what are the latest developments. Most of these early mongers include senior citizens, youngsters and dog owners. All this is but an attempt to regain back to normalcy.
Be it the disastrous floods, the local train blasts or the Operation Tornado this time a Mumbaikar is ready to forget his worries and back to his normal life to earn that daily bread for his kiddies.
As i salute the spirit of Mumbai and wish that this spirit never dies i make an appeal to our national leaders that its time they have a articulate defense startegy in place to protect our motherland.
Jai Hind.
Regards,
Sne!!

the post is so goddamn mumbai !!!
the voice of the silent spectator who can empathise but is helpless..who knows that in mumbai there is never a day without an excuse for him to die..the excuses change..the people giving them change..and we live on oblivious to that fact..and it is one city in the world where we do beyond than just survive...
Mumbai knows to live...!Right from the street urchin who saves 5 out of the 10 bucks that he earns to watch Madhuri on screen to the malabar hill dog owner that took his freaked canine for a walk on marine drive this morning...MUMBAI KNOWS TO LIVE !!! ...and thats why we love it :).
we're hit.Yes, we've fallen . we're broken. ..bu we aren't done. Our men in uniform have saved us again today and we will wait for them to strike back.I know they will...sooner or later.
thats a good one
why is that mumbai is not resilient now, they do not want to bounce back and etc after the recent incedents. why is this rahul bose, shobha de and all saying all these things now.
why not after the trian blasts that happened last time.
why are these people even coming on TV now, i did not see them on TV the previous time such incedent occur.
the whole of India does want such incidents to happen again and this feeling is their since the first time such blasts or killings happened probably the 93 blasts or even before that.
what is the special thing that has hit us this time that the water has gone above our head.
it is very clear to all of us that if India does not improve the security and laws such incidents will keep on happening.
there were lessons to be learnt from the previous blasts & killings and lessons to be learnt this time and probably their will be lessons to be learn the next time such thing happens unless we really learn something from all of this.
Collective fear stimulates herd instinct, and tends to produce ferocity toward those who are not regarded as members of the herd.
Above quote defines the mentality of these fanatics who made our country bleed.I still cant decipher what these beasts wanted to prove in killing innocent people. They said that they wanted Indian muslims to take insiration from them & follow suit. Will someone please tell them that there are more muslims in india then in Pakistan. He is more safe & has better life here then there.Tell them our third president was a muslim & our own Dr APJ Abdul kalam;former president of india is a muslim.
They just wanted to break us apart. But its time we show them we will not succumb to their wishes. We will not fight over these parochial issues. This is also the time we ask questions to our beloved politicians who think that these things are too small & mundane.Giving resignation will not end their responsiblity. They have to answer us & this time we will not take any BULL SHIT!!!!1
very moving article written by you. You have great thought process. keep on writing blog and keep me update.
Regarding Mumbai attack, I would like to tell that after attacks lots of demands are coming from Public such as not to pay taxes, have our own defense system , kick out politicians etc. I think in the end we will not able to achieve anything. I hope we all make one single demand such as make police more professionals , make them well armed, train them regularly and at last keep them away from the clutches of dirty politicians. this will not only help to tackle such horrific attack, but also help us to make our society criminal free.
Jai Hind.
From last several years I am seeing a wave of intellectualism from young folks.
Although intellectualism is good; unfortunately this intellectualism is a lost cause. It's gone to dogs.
Ranting, complaining, mud slinging is unfortunately being understood as 'moving article', 'great post' and so forth.
People who do this more articulately on blogs, News Paper articles, TV are looked up to and praised.
If I can rant, I'm the man. If I can blame, I'm the man. If I can sit at my home in an AC and loath at the politicians, I'm the man.
The one who is trying to solve problems is stupid! The one who is encouraging these young, whiskey drinking, bar hopping, mall shopping junta to go and register themselves to vote, is stupid.
The one whose trying to bring a change, is basically a stupid.
The one who rants is an intellectual!
This article is useless. It does not bring anything new in this world. It just, well, rants!
We need problem solvers. Our nation needs problem solvers.
When you have a problem, the way to approach your mind is how do I fix it?
When you can't afford a BMW, you need to think, what do I do so that I can afford it!!
@ Harshal:
This article basically talks about the spirit of Mumbai. You have probably just read this half way.. got worked up & posted the comment. If you read till the end.. I have tried to depict the resilience of the people living in the capital & their never die spirit to love life. This article does not rant or complain about those who are trying to solve the problem (well, does not really rant or complain!!). If you read it carefully this article salutes the media, the police & all the rescue operations carried out by the people safe guarding our country.
This article is not useless because it makes one realize that the common man living in Mumbai is strong, tough & resilient.. and is ready to gulp down his sorrows in a hope to have a better tom. He hopes that some day it will be a safe world, he hopes that some day this bombing will stop. If i keep ranting, complaining or keep being terrified also on the other hand, this will just not solve the problem. I should show a spectacular amount strength from my end (the common mans end) so that the people involved in safeguarding can do their work better.
This article in one way also tries to show the support given by the common man living in Mumbai silently to let the forces do their work.
Your analogies do not some how seem to fit into the frame i have tried to build on here.
What could have also spurted you to write this comment could be the kind of comments posted on the above article.
Anyways... m glad you commented something that started some kind of a discussion/argument.
This is basically what i want my readers to do.. Read & comment maybe about their agreement or disagreement.
Let me know what you think now.
